Pointless sequel.
This was meant to be a comedy? Decent enough concept, but woeful execution, as nothing is hilarious, and any kind of commentary is run into the ground by repetition. It thinks it's smart, but treats the audience like they are just as stupid as those in the society it depicts.
An extended (and amatuer-ish) video clip with lifeless covers and terrible cinematography. Zero characterisation and zero reason to endure the full run-time. Avoid.
Let's run this thing into the ground! Genuinely creepy at points, thanks to the overt humanesque sexualisation of CG animals.
Sometimes amusing. Mediocre mostly. Dumb.
Ridiculous from start to finish. An obvious vanity piece for both actors that misses more than it hits.
Stupid.
Navel-gazing, self important. Bursts of intersting cinematography, however.
Not a great film, but a wonderful example of the inventiveness and imagination of Peter Jackson.
Surprisingly good-hearted, but it tapers off rapidly in the last half. Definitely no Airheads, but not a Joe Dirt either.
It's a ridiculously racist comedy; then it tries to be poignant, and fails. Every character is merely a one-dimensional caricature, excepting Eastwood and 1 or 2 of the Hmong characters. I had fun watching it, though.
Halve the run time and you have the makings of a good film. At 90 minutes long, however, it drags until the final 10 minutes actually deliver some drama, dialogue, and narrative. Indulgent.
Unlikeable lead, other characters unlikeable by association.
Not as good as it should have been.
Enjoyable, if predictable, animated comedy.
Funny and painful, in equal parts, but too uneven to be considered anything more than decent. Worth your time if you're a fan of dark humour and twisted characters.
It's a fun ride up until the really lame and overly long ending.
Visually beautiful, thanks to the setting, but very disjointed narratively. A more cohesive plot, married with the beautiful locations, could have produced a winner. As it is, it is great to look at, and an interesting 'experience', but not much more.
Mediocre to awful in every possible way. Script, acting, editing, cinematography, sound, premise, etc.... are all terrible. Everyone attached to this film should be ashamed of themselves and questioning why they aspire to be part of the film industry.
